Tv Rants # 37653

The new season is upon us, and with it comes new shows that are great, and many that are not.

I have found Fringe to be the most enjoyable so far even if it is just an X-files clone. Terminator has also been surprisingly strong in its second season. It’s too bad I will be leaving it once Chuck returns. Heroes came back strong last night but they need to kill off some actors. There are way too many story-lines for them to build an audience. Normally I like multiple story lines but most of these people I could care less about. That’s a problem isn’t it? But last nights episode had moments of big screen splendor, that I’m surprised they didn’t try to release it as a summer movie. It would have been better than some of the fare.

I think the writers strike has definitely soured me this year as I don’t see tons of new shows to be excited about, but hopefully something will surprise me. The spring brings more hope with the return of Lost and BSG.

Power Outages

So yesterday I was working on Lucky Creature Attacks # 3 when the power went out. I lost all momentum and went out for dinner. When I got home, I couldn’t get back into that work so instead I painted these two guys,

Pirate is gone.

Embrace Change! Embrace it!

Well you will see this on many a cable network in the next couple of days. It’s Marvels promo for Secret Invasion. I like that their using there new found movie money to acutally you know, promote a comic book, but I got to wonder if the ESPN viewers are going to have any clue what this is about.

My Giant Sunflower guy

So we were throwing away large frames at work. I decided to paint one of my favorite creatures on it. I’ve never painted anything this large before. He’s a little different as his flowers don’t go all the way around. He is currently not for sale, but I’ll listen to any bribes. Click the picture to see bigger and better detail. That’s Quimby gaurding him.

Fringe is cool

101_lsd.jpg The Fringe premier which I felt was strongest the first hour reminds me so much of good X-files, that I can’t help but wonder how long it can stay good. The acting is great even if I don’t buy Joshua Jacksons slight turn into good person by the end of the premier. Score another one for JJ Abrams and crew as Fringe is one to watch!
