Is the Wii to become the home for light gun games?

Sega announced today that they are bringing their arcade light gun Ghost Squad game to the Wii. Makes sense. With the Wii controller all you have to do is point and shoot, much like those old arcade games. Anyone want to wager we will see a nintendo zapper before too long? I mean Duck Hunt is still one of the most requested virtual console games. House of the Dead would play better on the wii than any of it’s previous home conversions. I could pony up money for some Zombie killing fun. Bring on Time Crisis, Operation Wolf and err Hogan’s Alley. I’m sold.

Spider Man 3. Ehhhhhh

Spiderman3 for all intents and purposes is a pretty good movie. It’s just kind of boring? The action sequences lack any real punch or atmosphere and Topher Grace as Venom is pretty awful. No where near as cool as it could be. Sandman is kinda cool but also was done with the mummy like ten years ago. The one spot this movie shines is between the Dunst and Maguire but it’s also got a lot of missteps there as well. Overall it’s the worse of the three and I can honestly say I don’t need a Spider Man 4 for quite some time. Time to hang up these tights. One sequel in the summer of sequels down. Hopefully we will go on a upswing from here.

Planet COmicon

Just got back from planet Comicon a smaller sized comic book convention in Kansas City. Got some good trades at 50 percent off a cylon minimate and saw some neat up and coming artists. Also got to go to a panel with Richard Hatch from Battlestar Galactica( my favorite show still on the air) and saw Mr. Jim Lee in person. For good or not he is the artist that changed the comic book industry in the early nineties for me and a bunch of others and then changed it again when his Wildstorm went to DC. Pretty good con, I could see us attending as a vendor once we get the Poster Series rolling.

Star Trek Of Gods and Men

So I’ve been aware of all the fan made films of Star Trek on the web the past couple of years. Exeter and New Voyages never really drew me in. Not that they were bad by any means, I just couldn’t really get into it. Now I’ve seen this trailer for Of Gods and Men and seen the actual trek alumni in it and Im kinda blown away. It looks like more fun than any episode of Voyager ever was and it’s a mirror universe tale so how can I pass that up? Walter Koening can play evil. I wonder how weird it is for these actors to be going back to these characthers for free after so long. I mean did anyone think we would see Uhuru on screen again? Even on the Innertube. My geek sense is tingling and I love this trailer. you can see and learn more at startrekofgodsandmen.com

Peas. O.k. Sure why not?

Ok. After a number of comic projects which thankfully no one outside of this house will see I am returning to the Peas landscape. It’s full color, and I have a few pages completed already. I hope to have a small print run by the end of the year. Small as in 150-300 copies and it will be available through us. It’s been a while since I visited Bob and Sally and I’m surprised at how much I am enjoying creating them in color.

HellBoy Darkness Calls#1 ASM #21

Two comics worth your money today as Whedon gets all touch feely with the X-men in the way only Whedon can
and then there’s the return of everyone’s favorite hornless devil

Hellboy Darkness Calls #1 of 6. A strong first issue and a nice set up for some weird fun which, is of course what Hellboy does best. Does anyone else agree that Dave Stewart is one of the best colorist working the field? He just commands the mood of the entire Hellboy comics universe.

May Movies

May 4th. Well May is here and the summer of 80’s and overall geekfest of sequels is upon us. I know in my heart I won’t make it to as many movies as I would like and by August will pass on ones that I will go to now because Im ready. Spider-Man 3 opens the floodgates and it makes you wonder if the season will peak with the very first release. I loved the 1st movie, thought the second was a little king kong action but still rather good. Can anyone name any movies other than the original star wars where all 3 were good?(i know jedi is a point of debate, but I liked the Ewoks dammit.)

May 11th is 28 Weeks Later, the sequel to 28 days later. Got to wonder why? But as the first zombie flick in a while it should do o.k. in second place under spideys red and black second week shadow.

Shrek 3 comes out the week after, and I will skip it until dvd. Thank you for coming out by christmas.

Then only a week later on the 25th it’s time for Mr. Depp and the rest of the dirty Pirates for our final foray into what has been a wonderful summer set of movies. It will be fun and Chow Yun Fat as a pirate? Cool.

There’s two smaller films that also have my eye this month but they might not make it to your town anytime soon. Luc Besson’s first movie in quite a while Angel-A set in black and white Paris, and

Waitress, a romantic date movie for when your girl is sick of Venom and Explosions. Plus it has Nathan Fillion in it, which means it will be good and absolutely no one will go see it.

heroes turn’s it up a notch.

When I first starting watching Heroes I wasn’t that intrigued. I work most Monday nights and so it didn’t seem that put together to me. But now almost a full season in, and the show is really starting to work and sometimes it performs amazingly well. The shocker this past episode was worthy of a season ending cliffhanger and I can’t wait to see how their going to finish this thing.
