My better half

Little updates on Jessica.
Her Bike Tags got featured in the blog Chasing Mailboxes. You can get them on her Etsy site

She is also one of many artists to be featured projected onto the stage of Ten Cent Poetry show tommorow night at the Orange Peel here in Asheville. I’ll post pictures if we catch any.

She is part of a large group show at the Blue Spiral gallery here in Asheville in July. She has many new and large works to show you.

And work on the Ladies of Letterpess convention continues, as well as work on her book for Lark Crafts. We are both busy kids, hopefully it pays off in the end.

Check out the rest of her stuff and links to above mentioned things on her website.

Boston Bruins

It’s fitting my first sports creature comes on the final night of the Stanley Cup. Win or lose this guy is sure to make a Bruins fan smile. O.k. lose they may cry, but anyway he’s on Etsy right now.

Big news for Con-news.com

Below was posted on con-news.com just moments ago. It’s a pretty big deal as it gets us a print existence in the D20 girls magazine and more exposure. A great way to celebrate four years of the little site that could!

“I’m super excited to announce that The D20 Girls Project and Con-news.com have begun a press partnership to share our resources to better serve the fandom community.
Certain con-news articles will appear in the quarterly D20 magazine, and when available we will get reports from the D20 girls here on con-news.com. Con-news also now appears on the main hub of the D20 website.

A little about the D20 Girls from their website below,

“The D20 girls embody Confidence, Reliability, Intelligence, and a Strong Work Ethic. We break down stereotypes, We are NOT Barbie dolls. We do NOT come in one shape! We do NOT come in one size.

The D20 Girls is a semi-unique business that combines Social Networking, Talent Management, and Event Services. We currently have D20 Girls active in over 90% of the United States.

Yes, there is a business angle to what we do, but we also push the social aspect much needed in the industry. We arrange with vendors, artists, and conventions to hire D20 girls as booth help and trade show models at gaming, comic book and fandom related shows across the US.

Why? Our project is crucial, because the gaming industry and related fandoms should be promoted by girls who are actually a part of it – NOT over-paid models who know nothing about the industry, or the people who are a part of it.”

We look forward to working with the D20 Girls Project in the coming months and as always giving fandom more news on conventions throughout the United States. As always thanks for reading.

Long Bio for June 2011

I write things, like this comic here and pieces like Placebo which was hosted here and posted weekly for free. A zine version is coming soon.

I’ve become more widely known for my painted creatures which you can buy on my etsy site. I also take commisions on paintings.

I do a little webcomic called Peas which I have put out every friday for over three years now.

My latest project is with artist Jessica White. It’s a webcomic called Daytime Ghost Hunter. I’m very proud of it so far.

In July 2007 I founded con-news.com, which has grown into the leading daily convention news site in the world. It averages over 10,000 unique readers of whom visit 100,00 times per month. I naturally also attend a lot of conventions, sometimes as an artist, sometimes as a fan. You can see my upcoming appearances here.

I’m under the name luckycreature on Twitter, Facebook, Formspring, Xbox Live, and PSN. Please join me on your social platform of choice.

I love college football, media scifi, and pop culture. I collect Minimates. I don’t like the word bored.

I live in Asheville, NC with my beautiful wife Jessica White and two cats.

Before all this I have put out records, posters, and other items by other artists. You can see the list of those and anything I contribute to here .

I plan on continuing all of this for a long time, hope you’ll join me.

My email is luckycreaturelabel@gmail.com
I’m open to all invites, collaborations, commissions, and really anything that involves you and me.
