Comic reviews, Lenore, Zero Killer

Zero Killer is a brand new comic by the author of the Rex Mundi series. In this universe the world has gone nuclear back in the 70’s and the New York skyscrapers have become the home for many different gangs who battle to stay high up in the air. The story follows Zero who feels like a bounty hunter in this first issue. The art is great and Dave Stewart does a great job with the colors as usual.

Lenore #13 Roman Dirge takes Lenore into the world of color and it looks nice but doesnt really affect the story in any way. Lenore is still her distrubing cute little self and she still has some pretty whacked out companions along for the ride. Very funny stuff and there is a reason this comic is as popular as it is.

Also read the Gaurdians miniseries that Marvel put out a few years ago. It’s a nice coming of age story involving all kinds of aliens. It’s not bad if you can find it in your quarter bins at your local shop.

MN trip!

So we had a great vacation up to the twin cities. Started at Convergence and once my geek weekend was over we headed to the Minnesota Center for the BOOK arts for jess and then went exploring for a while downtown. Ended up staying in the North Suburbs. Day 2 was at the Walker one of the nicest Contemporary Art museums I’ve ever been too. Almost all the shows were very good. Then we walked Hennepin and Lyndale and saw some pretty neat stores before having some really amazing Vietnamese.
Our final day was spent at the Mall of America, which really is a big mall with a theme park in it. Pretty cool but not too many stores you cant find elsewhere. I really reccomend Benucci TUcci? for lunch. Youll get a really great meal for less than it would cost outside of the mall.
Overall a Great Trip!

E-3 Microsoft demos

A bunch of new demos are up on Marketplace because of E3.
I really enjoyed the NCAA demo of course and can’t wait till Tuesday to buy the full game. I am not a fan of the Stuntman Ignigtion demo as that type of gameplay just feels restricted and kind of boring. Full Auto seems much better suited for that type of gameplay and even that was boring.
Ace Combat six seems like a great airplane game. Too bad I suck at flying so much that it isn’t even worth my time.
Then theirs Blue Dragon a game I had high hopes for but it looks kind of bland and I think I’ll just wait for Eternal Sonata which I’ve already sung it’s praises and maybe pick up BD sometime next year when it hits bargain prices. So demos are good but the only one that really wowed me was the one i was going to get anyway and that’s NCAA. hopefully we will get some more before the week is out.
