Still flying.

This painting by me is of the crew of the ship Serenity from Joss Whedon’s Firelfy. Jayne, Kaylee, Mal, Zoe, Wash, River, and Surgical Simon. With firefly flying above it. Show your browncoat love with this original painting hanging in your house.

Writing again.

I’m writing again, which is good I suppose but I’m finding myself really wanting to play in someone elses playground for a while. To dig through their characters, make a mess of them, tidy them up and say, here you go. Basically I want to work on a comic. Daytime Ghost Hunter is still happening, Jess has just been incredibly busy with her book deal, and putting on the Ladies of Letterpress conference next weekend. I think we will see Jessica Parasol in the coming months.

But ahem. Yeah. Writing. Did a few poems that are out to editors. I have two short stories that are sitting in some far off computer file, being laid out in two collections that will come out whenever the publisher gets their collections out. It could be soon, it could be months. Such is life of the minor storyteller. Hope you’ll check them out when they arrive.

Long Bio for July 2011

I write things, like this comic here and pieces like Placebo which was hosted here and posted weekly for free. A zine version is here.
I have poetry and short stories in collections in the U.S. and the United Kingdom.

I’ve become more widely known for my painted creatures which you can buy on my etsy site. I also take commissions on paintings.

I did a little webcomic called Peas which I put out every friday for a few years. Still have buttons.

My latest project is with artist and my wife Jessica C. White. It’s a webcomic called Daytime Ghost Hunter. I’m very proud of it so far.

In July 2007 I founded con-news.com, which has grown into the leading daily convention news site in the world. It averages over 10,000 unique readers of whom visit 100,00 times per month. I naturally also attend a lot of conventions, sometimes as an artist, sometimes as a fan. You can see my upcoming appearances here.

I’m under the name luckycreature on Twitter, Facebook, Formspring, Xbox Live, and PSN. Please join me on your social platform of choice.

I love college football, media scifi, and pop culture. I collect Minimates. I don’t like the word bored.

I live in Asheville, NC with my beautiful wife Jessica C. White and two cats.

Before all this I have put out records, posters, and other items by other artists. You can see the list of those and anything I contribute to under Releases .

I plan on continuing all of this for a long time, hope you’ll join me.

My email is luckycreaturelabel@gmail.com
I’m open to all invites, collaborations, commissions, and really anything that involves you and me.

Illogicon.

Just been added to the program participants list for the first ever Illogicon next January 13th-15th, 2012 in Raleigh, NC. Super excited for NC to get another convention and happy to be a part of it. The hope is for me and Jessica to also have an artist table at the show, but details on that are still forthcoming. See you in Raleigh in January.
