Asheville Toy Expo

toyshow
Spent the morning at the Asheville Toy Expo at the Orange Peel. As the title says, the shows focus was on toys of all kinds. While things from the eighties (gi joe, Motu) dominated, the organizers did a great job of making sure all fandoms were there. There was an anime toy dealer, and a vendor selling barbies, even someone selling old board games.
I like that the show isn’t trying to do to much other than toys. The focus helps. Its a pretty great toy show already in its debut and offers plenty for the toy collector to look at.
There are plans for a second show in 2014 and two per year going forward. It’s a welcome addition to the Asheville Geek scene, and I’ll be back.
For my haul I picked up two older minimates missing from my collection, a Dark KNight bluray, Abe Sapien, and a baby godzilla for baby Milo. Pretty great stuff!
