Currents

Currents is my occasional collection of links to places on the web I feel the need to share with you.

Tracie Pouliot makes awesome prints and now has an awesome website to go with them. I love her skinny pregnant ladies and you should too. Tracie Pouliot.com

Jess pointed me to this Cameron Village Sewer Creature. It’s something truly bizarre. Cameron Village Monster

Dc Comics finally launched their digital presence this week with DC Comics App powered by Comixology. There are currently some free Batman Black & White Comics on there. I’ve grown quite fond of reading comics on my tiny ipod touch. Can’t imagine how addicted I would be to it if I had an Ipad.

Leverage returned last week. It is one of the best shows that captures the spirit of early nineties television, and it’s filled with geekdom jokes, that don’t deter the viewing experience for the rest of you. A lot of shows today take themselves too seriously. Leverage makes sure no matter high the stakes, you still get the occasional laugh in. Airs on TNT at 9pm. Tnt’s Leverage page

Sofia Coppola returns with Somewhere. I like the music by Phoenix

And if Studi Ghilbi made video games it would look like Level 5’s new game for the PS3 Ninokuni

Photo History 3, Mr. Beeby!

This is Adam Beeby with my take on the Martian Manhunter from JLA. Adam introduced me to all sorts of comic book goodness, including League of Extraordinay Gentlemen, and Transmet, which quickly became one of my favorites. We also worked together at CD Alley for a few years, and ran in many of the same circles in Greenville, NC. He is a damn fine artist, and can be found most days running his comic book store, Heroes Are Here in Goldsboro, NC.

Extending the family tree to Goldsboro, NC check out Adam Beeby’s artwork on this Facebook Page and check out Heroes R Here for your comic needs.
