DC Universe #0 Why?

f_dcuzero-cv1-r5.jpg O.k. so i put my fifty cents down for DC Universe #0 the book to launch all the DC crossovers and major storylines this year. The Best. Batman R.I.P. why is it that Batman and his cast of villians outshine the rest of the DC universe everytime. It’s probably why i didn’t care about any of the other stories in this collection. Multiple universes blah blah blah, oh a Flash is coming back. Who cares? Sorry I know its my Marvel gene but even for fifty cents this wasn’t all that great. But Batman R.I.P. I may actually have to pick up.

Iron Man has me ready for Summer.

I remember summers where I have been excited for films, but usually they are in July. But never has the opening film of summer got the buzz that Iron Man has. I can recall one summer seeing The Scorpion King (Yeah I know awful) because it was the first action movie of the year. But this year we have a contender (if you believe the reviews) not a preteder leading out of the gate. And it follows with a great kids movie in Speed Racer and then Indy two weeks later. I do not think I could be more ready to watch movies. And just anticipate what’s next on the plate. And eat popcorn. And once it gets warm here, escape into the air condition fortress of the megaplex. And watch as something I hoped to be great becomes a dud, and something I wasn’t sure of become the best thing Ive ever seen. These things happen in the course of the summer. Some movies sneak up on you. I had no plans to see Knocked Up last year. It doesn’t really fit the summer mold. And yet it was one of the most enjoyable films of the year. All I know is that 530 on this Friday afternoon, Im going to sit back and let Jon Favreau prove to me that Marvel still has the movie magic.

I’m more excited by
SNK Arcade Classics Vol 1 a collection of 16 of the greatest SNK (NeoGeo) arcade games. These games used to be about 150 to 400 dollars each. Now you can own them all for less than 30. It’s a great time to be a video game geek.

not fun

so yesterday did not go so well. The car is at a Firestone in Davenport (about an hour away). still havent heard whats wrong with it so that does not bode well. Will have to figure out how to get to work tommorow. no bus line on sunday. And then get back out to Davenport this week. Overall it could have been worse. But it did make for a very long day.

lost returns tonight.

Ill be at work but is anyone else excited that LOST is back tonight? Only five episodes left this season and then thats it till 2009. I kind of like the shortened season and it should work better next year without the writers strike break thrown in. One week till Iron Man kicks off my summer at the movies. Things are going to start getting very busy here, Ive got mini trips the next three weekends starting with tommorows drive to Windy City Pulp and Paper show, and ending at the end of the month with our train trip to Glacier National Park and Seattle. going to be fun but very very hectic.

I am ahead on peas.

So I have the next three Peas strips done. Plus after the next two the design of peas gets revamped. The page will be a lot clearer and you will be able to see the entire strip without scrolling down. its a limit on size for sure but Im not really doing anything that requires great space for artwork.:> So two more fridays of old style peas strips and then on May 9th the new Peas style will hit.
